Letter: More enforcement needed at North Star
Mark Harvey is to be commended for summarizing the decades-long, multifaceted legal processes that created the North Star Nature Preserve (“North Star took years to protect,” The Aspen Times, Aug. 5).
I urge that a similar effort be made to create enforceable legal penalties against individuals and businesses that violate the spirit of North Star and other dedicated public spaces. If enforcement power already exists, I urge Pitkin County to work out procedures for law enforcement to actually intervene and make arrests in such situations while they are ongoing.
