Letter: Loving lacrosse
Hello, Aspen,
As some of you may know, we have just recently finished both the high school and youth club lacrosse programs. Lacrosse in this valley has grown every year, and we hope to continue that trend. First, I would like to thank all of the parents who make the weekly pilgrimages to tournaments all over this fine state of ours, I’d like to thank the coaches who donate time and knowledge, and lastly, I’d like to thank Mike Goerne and Meredith Sauder for growing the youth program! Congrats to all the teams that won at the Colorado Lax Jam this past weekend!
Now that summer has come, it is time for the old men to dust off the pads and come and run around! The Aspen men’s lacrosse team will meet twice a week to toss the ball, play a little and laugh a lot. If you have any interest in joining us, please do! We meet Sundays at 3 p.m. at Iselin Field in Aspen and Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at Crown Mountain Park in El Jebel. We are planning on sending a team to Breckenridge July 9 and 10 and have several scrimmages against other mountain towns throughout the summer, and of course, we will finish the summer with the Aspen Shoot Out on Aug. 6 and 7. No experience is necessary (we have a ton of coaches who play!); just show up and see if you like it. If you would like to join us Wednesdays or would care to sponsor us, please feel free to call me and chat at 970-309-3019! If you would like to join us on Sundays or have questions about the Breckenridge tournament, please call Mike Goldman at 970-948-5300. Let’s have an amazing summer!
Aspen!
