Letter: Little pieces of plastic
Little pieces of plastic
Little pieces of plastic / it seems like they’re everywhere / I was looking around the other day / there was even some in my hair
they say the oceans are full of it / some caught in a great spiral eye / it’s probably already too late / to clean it all up, my oh my
there is also a particular corner / towards which all the winds blow / that’s where the styrofoam peanuts end up / before traveling on to the show
what I really hate is the coolers / made of little white styrofoam balls / when they break all apart into those tiny little pieces / I get on my knees and crawl
everything is now wrapped in more plastic / with extra layers galore / how many do you need today sir? / I think i’ll take three or four
plastic bags are also a pisser / as they blow on the wind in the air / first caught in the trees they float down to the seas / to choke fish and kill birds, it’s not fair
the landfills they are full of this junk / it takes years and years to degrade / because lazy people can’t pick up a good bag / before going out to buy lemonade
so I guess now’s the time for the message / that you better recycle or die / reduce and reuse like you mean it / better yet just don’t go and buy
