Letter: Learn the facts
In reference to several letters in the papers mentioning the citizens petition about the Pan and Fork parcel, I attended the Basalt Town Council meeting Jan. 26 at which the citizens petition was discussed at great length in Ordinances 4 and 5 for a first reading. Tom Smith, town attorney, was very explicit in his presentation that the petition was illegal according to state law. There was nothing dismissive about the council vote — it voted to abide by the law. The mayor did not.
Please get the facts before you vote — it is the only way an informed decision can be made. Log on to http://www.onebasalt.org or http://www.basalt.net/agendacenter, or you can view the actual Basalt Town Council meeting on GrassRoots TV.

Kimbo for Aspen City Council
Vote for Kimbo Brown-Schirato for council. She’s the right choice at the right time for Aspen. She listens, works extremely well with others, and she’s effective.
