Letter: Kind acts of community service

This month, more than 30 sixth-graders from Aspen Middle School came out in force to assist three families in the valley who are challenged by chronic illness. They cooked and baked, planted flowers, weeded gardens and painted decks. Collectively, they raised $4,000 to fund their projects and deliver groceries to their families.

These children are a small army of angels mentored each year in community service by Allison Daily of Pathfinders and middle school teachers Mark Munger and Matt Fields. Kudos and thanks to them and to each one of these amazing kids who hit the ground running and lifted us all up!
