Letter: Justice in the Senate

I’m Arn Menconi, and I am a candidate for U.S. Senate for the Green Party.

I am running because, as a dad of two young children, I believe our generation must take back democracy. I want to represent the people, not corporations and the top 1 percent.

I would fight to end the military-industrial dominance of our government with its endless greed and killings; end our dependence on fossil fuels by 2050, providing single-payer health care for all as a right, not as a privilege; and break up the big banks and power of Wall Street that has been stealing resources from our children and grandchildren.

This country is run by a global corporate mafia that has written the rules, laws and free-trade agreements so that it no longer needs sovereign borders when it can create its own. It no longer pays for the resources that make its profits. And it has rented politicians who need its money, lie to the citizens and say that they are serving democracy.

This is a crime. It’s called kleptocracy. I would fight every day, exposing this and making sure every senator, every congress member and the president is representing the people, not corporate totalitarianism.

Our world is not for sale. Our country will not be the biggest terrorist. Our judicial system will not lock up the whistleblower and communities of color while politicians commit war crimes and CEOs commit fraud. They will no longer walk free while we become slaves.

There is no peace without justice. And justice will prevail.

I am a former Eagle County commissioner and former executive director of a national outdoor youth charity and am dedicated to social justice. I am taking on establishment politicians by demanding we take back America from corporate government and fight for the people.

I hope I get your support. Learn more about me at http://www.arnmenconi.com.
