Letter: History repeats itself

The contest between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders reminds me of the contest between Joseph Stalin and Leon Trotsky in the Soviet Union after Vladimir Lenin’s death. Like Trotsky, Sanders actually believes that socialism would benefit the poor and working people. Clinton, on the other hand, like Stalin, only cares about state power. The irony of the Russian situation is that Trotsky justified Lenin’s ruthless tactics before he himself fell victim to them as wielded by Stalin.
