Letter: History heroes

Another Winterskol is in the books, and we at the Aspen Historical Society would like to send a laurel and hearty handshake out to everybody who helped make Aspen History 101 and the Mad Hatter’s Bash such a success Jan. 14. Our gratitude goes to the staffs of the Aspen Chamber Resort Association and the Wheeler Opera House and to everyone who participated — Vince Lahey, Gemma Goss, Beth Fawley, Pat Holloran, Tony Vagneur, Dr. Slats Cabbage, Polly Ross, Chris Klug and The History Players — your enthusiasm and talents helped us put the “story” into history. Also, congrats to the 200 new Aspen State Teachers College students who matriculated and received their new student IDs; hang on to those cards, and hopefully you’ll join us for our first Time Travel Tuesday next week at the Isis Theater where we’ll screen “Aspen Extreme.” Cheers — it’s turning out to be a great winter!
