Hiding behind chain saws

Melanie Sturm’s column on “coexisting” with a totalitarian Iran reminds me of that funny TV commercial about scary-movie delusion. Not hers, bless her. The other guy’s.

The Obama Doctrine seems to say to gobsmacked critics, “No, let’s not escape disaster by hopping into that nearby, running muscle car of strategy.” No, the smartest guy in the room suggests to a bunch of folks, “Let’s all go hide behind the Islamists’ chain saws and wait there a while longer.” What could go wrong?
