Letter: Help hospital stay extraordinary
I am writing this letter to ask for your support of ballot issue 5A. This tax measure is not an increase but a continuation of the support you have provided Aspen Valley Hospital for years.
Your support will mean Aspen Valley Hospital can continue to provide outstanding, personalized service to our patients. The hospital has an all-registered-nurse staff with the best nurse-to-patient ratios around. Early in my nursing career, I worked on a medical floor with 42 patients and only two registered nurses to care for those patients. At Aspen Valley Hospital, many days, our patients receive 1-1 care. All of our physicians are either board certified or board eligible in their specialty. Our staff members are highly educated, many with advanced degrees or certifications. Your support will mean Aspen Valley Hospital can continue to recruit and retain highly skilled people to provide only the best of care.
Medicare recently awarded Aspen Valley Hospital a five-star rating for outstanding service. This award recognized Aspen Valley Hospital for the high-quality care it provides, and only three other awards were given in the state. In addition, the hospital is proud to have been named “Best Performer, Overall Rating” by Avatar, our customer-satisfaction surveyor. This award is the result of patient surveys recognizing the clinical staff for its exceptional care. Highly qualified people, training and equipment are the essentials to be able to provide this level of care. Your support means Aspen Valley Hospital can continue to provide our staff with tools to enable it to deliver extraordinary care.
Please help us by voting “yes” on ballot issue 5A.
