Letter: Hall of Fame ceremony a hit

Just over a week ago, a healthy chunk of the ski industry descended on your legendary ski town. What a trip — “What a ride,” as Chris Klug said. This passionate skiing community welcomed ski enthusiasts from around the globe. For your warm welcome, Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club, the Aspen Historical Society, Aspen Peak Magazine, Aspen Skiing Co., Mike Kaplan, Christian Knapp and Mary Manning — a special thanks. You gave us support and direction from the day we hit the ground running on our first site visit almost a year ago. On April 9, our hard work came to fruition and we bow to the Aspen community for helping create a buzz, share in the building excitement and ultimately get caught up in it all. Seven inductees joined over 400 already inducted into the Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame. Your hometown honey Chris Klug and Aspen hotelier and ski resort game changer, Edgar Stern joined the likes of Aspen locals Bob Beattie, Klaus Obermeyer, Chris Davenport, John Clendenin and Cristin Cooper!

Kudos to the Limelight, the Sky, the Jerome, the Mountain Chalet and the St. Regis Aspen Resort for rolling out the red carpet for our events and parties. Thanks for getting the party started, Prinoth, Leitner-Poma and Bogner! And lastly, an ovation to Obermeyer for dressing up the auction tables, Aspen Brewing Co. for quenching our thirst and the The Hickory House for making us lick our fingers! Again, bravo! We were able to give our guests from Boston to Bavaria a taste of Aspen that will be forever relished and remembered.
