Letter: Good for residents, bad for business

The WE-cycle people had a lengthy letter in The Aspen Times on July 22 (“WE-cycle: A community alternative to driving”). Their success is heartwarming. Hopefully more use of this beneficial program will lessen the ridiculous traffic backup on Main Street and Highway 82 starting at 2 or 3 p.m.

I recommend that the lights at Cemetery Lane and the golf course be put on blinkers for Highway 82 and red for Cemetery Lane and the golf course. Right turns on red are permitted and won’t hurt anyone. But it sure will speed up traffic trying to get out of Dodge City.

By the way, now that residents have stopped growth with Referendum 1, traffic may improve. Good for motorists, bad for business.
