Letter: Fillion for Fire District board

Dear Editor:

Thank you for the information regarding the upcoming Aspen Fire Protection board election. Silly me, I tossed my ballot! Not to worry; the clerk at the firehouse can reissue one on the spot. No excuse not to do your civic duty.

While I’m at it, I’d like to recommend Chuck Fillion. He’s been in town forever, has close ties to the “boots on the ground” types (city police, county sheriff, fire deptartment), our worker bees (longtime waiter, restaurant manager, rugby-club member, hockey) and city administration (works for the city water department). These paired with the sense of humor necessary to succeed in Aspen politics would make Chuck a fine addition to the Aspen Fire Protection District board.
