Letter: Dream continues in jewelry

Dream continues in jewelry

After 12 years with stores in both Aspen and Carbondale, I am closing my Harmony Scott Jewelry Aspen shop March 31. Please stop in to say “hi” and celebrate our transition with a spin on our “wheel of fortune” for great deals and prizes in the Mill Street Plaza by Jimmy’s and Cache Cache. I do have a beautiful vision for the future, made possible by more time in the design studio and less time in retail. Simplify and beautify — change is good! For all my loyal fans, you can always find me on Main Street in Carbondale, online at http://www.harmonyscott.com, at Aspen trunk shows and select shops around town.

It has been this artist’s dream come true to be supported for my creativity by all the locals and visitors I have been blessed to meet. Growing up here and graduating from Aspen High School, I was well aware that many local kids had to move away to build their lives elsewhere. But somehow, what started in 1998 making jewelry in a little cabin on the backside of Aspen Mountain turned into this huge, beautiful part of my life, from trunk shows at the Hotel Jerome, Jazz Aspen festivals and the farmers market in the early days to opening my Carbondale shop in 2001 to adventure the Aspen retail scene and now to this next chapter! Who knew that a three-month pop-up shop on the Hyman Avenue pedestrian mall would turn into 12 years of love and support in Aspen?

It is a privilege and pleasure to share all your birthdays, weddings and anniversaries, special occasions and celebrations of self-love. I feel blessed to be a part of so many special memories while adorning fabulous women around the valley and the world. It is such an honor you chose my jewelry for these important moments in your lives. Thank you for being a part of my life!

If I have learned anything about evolution and growth in this life, I know we must embrace the mystery of change and welcome it with courage and positive energy. I am excited for the next chapter, which will include more time in my studio to focus on expanding my style in custom- and one-of-a-kind jewelry designs that are even more exquisite and amazing. I also envision more space for community, family and friends and lots of adventures in our mountains and nature. Bring it on!

Thank you for supporting this local girl, my work and fabulous staff these many years!

Harmony Scott
