Letter: Cost of care, not construction

The November election is coming soon, so I wanted to ask for support and a “yes” vote on ballot issue 5A, which is a continuation of the Aspen Valley Hospital mill levy. The hospital needs to renew the existing mill levy of 1.5 mills. This is something we ask the community for every five years, and since 1995 we have asked for the same amount. The money goes to operational costs, which we need so we can provide the best medical care possible for our residents and guests. The money does not go toward any of the costs of expansion. The expansion costs are provided by the generosity of philanthropy. The hospital needs your help on this, so please vote “yes” on 5A. Thank you very much.

Dr. Barry Mink

Aspen Valley Hospital board of directors
