Letter: Community policing the way to go
Community policing the way to go
It seems that you can’t view the national news in any format without hearing about the controversy about the police in other parts of the country. In my younger days, I had my
share of encounters with area law enforcement and can honestly say that I was always treated with respect, whether I deserved it or not. I just want to say “thank you” to all of those who put themselves in harm’s way so that we can enjoy this magical place. The local philosophy of community policing and an inclusive atmosphere make a huge difference. We enjoy “to protect and serve.” We don’t suffer, us and them. Our local law enforcement agencies apparently want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
