Letter: Come watch some hockey

Many thanks to everyone who helped in making this weekend’s games a great success. For those of you who don’t know, Aspen has a new hockey team composed of players ages 17 to 20 hailing from as far away as Russia and as close as Aspen. It is fast-paced and exciting hockey, the likes of which has not been seen here since the early ’70s, when Aspen Hockey patriarch John McBride started the original Aspen Leafs. The Leafs compete in the Rocky Mountain Junior Hockey League, which is composed of six teams from Colorado. The Leafs will play 20 home games this year, all at the Aspen Ice Garden. Home-game schedules can be found on the team’s website, AspenLeafs.com. Come out and support your Aspen Leafs. Tickets are only $5.
