Letter: Celebration at Explore Booksellers to meet the new owner

Explore Booksellers, as your journalist Scott Condon so articulately described in Wednesday’s article, is being saved, so it will continue as the literary and cultural center of Aspen into the future (“Explore Booksellers aims to add speakers this summer in Aspen”). Thanks for such positive coverage.

Please note, however, that the celebration to introduce the new owner and his team Friday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. is not by invitation only. It is open to all devotees and supporters of Explore Booksellers. So please join us in making a toast to Doug Phelps, the Explore staff and the Pyramid Bistro staff.

Also, the idea to have this first garden party of the summer was spawned by Ellen Hunt and Lynda Palevsky, stalwart members of the Save Explore Committee.

We hope to see you Friday.

Bill Stirling
