Letter: Can it get any worse?

How can anyone in the U.S. today look at the politicos in Washington, D.C., and be optimistic about anything when:

• We have a foreign policy that is a worldwide joke?

• Our own national government and its alphabet agencies are spying on American citizens, exposing a constant and continuing string of abuses and disregard/disrespect for our Constitutional rights?

• We have more than $17.4 trillion in national debt and rising. In the real world, that is just about $220,000 for a family of four?

• The disaster of the president’s namesake, 0bamacare, is that a recent Congressional Budget Office report says it will cost us more than $2.6 trillion that we do not have and the loss of more than 2.5 million jobs and will still leave about 30 million to 40 million Americans or more without health insurance?

And who knows what further schemes/abuses our politicos have in store for us?
