Boom days in Aspen

Dear Editor:

As I lay half awake in bed the morning of the Fourth of July and heard the boom, my chest swelled with pride in remembrance of all those who fought for this nation’s independence and freedom.

The boom also made me chuckle and put a big smile on my face in reliving the rough and tumble birth of Aspen. To those opposed to the boom — a little spit in the eye of authority once in a while is a good thing.
