Letter: Basalt High School and the Dream Project

Basalt High School and the Dream Project

Thank you to The Aspen Times for featuring the recipients of the 5Point Dream Project scholarships. These five students deserve recognition for their creativity and altruism, and it is a credit to our valleywide community and to 5Point Film that we provide them with material support.

It is with some bias that I draw attention to the fact that four of the five recipients are students at Basalt High School. We are lucky to have Morelia Bautista, Jacques Cote, Karyme Lara and Mauricio Sosa as members of our school community. School counselor Bo Takarabe deserves a lot of thanks for her continued support of the students’ projects, and so do the teachers, parents and mentors in the greater Basalt High School community.

Assistant principal, Basalt High School
