Letter: Basalt, developer should stop playing footsy

Editor’s note: A version of the following letter was sent previously to the Basalt Town Council.

A resolution renewing the development agreement with Lowe Enterprises is on your agenda Tuesday. I urge you not to renew this agreement. There is great concern among the people of Basalt that the development envisioned by Lowe does not fit their needs or desires. Condos were rejected by the public when it was polled. The Clark’s Market property was considered the best place for a hotel.

It is time for the town staff and the council to quit playing footsy with Lowe Enterprises.

Gerry Terwilliger and Anna Naeser
