Letter: Balko and Nagle for AVH

We would like to remind everyone that there is an (only) mail-in election happening this offseason. Every registered voter within the hospital district should have received a ballot in the mail by now. They are due back no later than May 5. If you have any questions on the election or where to obtain a ballot, please reach out to Amy Trubiroha Wells at 970-544-1261 or trubirhora@aspenhospital.org.

We take our hat off to the existing Aspen Valley Hospital board members, with a special note of thanks to Dr. Barry Mink for his years of service on the board. While all seven of the fine community members would do a solid job to fill the two seats up this spring, we would like to offer our unconditional support for Dr. Greg Balko and to allow Dr. Mindy Nagle to extend her service on the board.

With the other three remaining board members outside of the medical profession, we think it will best serve the community as a whole and Aspen Valley Hospital specifically, if there is some continued medical background and experience on the board. We know both Greg and Mindy personally and professionally and have seen them interact in a compassionate and open-minded manner with a wide variety of community members within the Roaring Fork Valley. We are happy with the increase in candidates and hope that all stay and become more involved with the hospital. It is one of the true cornerstones of what makes our resort community be able to focus on the community of full time resident and families that call Aspen and the valley home.
