AVH gives back

Dear Editor:

I mentor the Health Career Club at Aspen High School and have done so for many years. I work closely with Joe High at Aspen Valley Hospital. He’s been wonderful in coordinating with the many departments in the hospital and allowing our students to receive an incredible learning experience. Joe lines up influential speakers to come and chat with our students about their various careers in the health field.

Students ask questions and oftentimes, these talks steer the students in a different direction than they may have originally thought they’d be going.

We are so fortunate in this community that the men and women at Aspen Valley Hospital take precious time out of their day to talk to our students.

This year, I’d like to acknowledge and thank the following: Dawn Gilkerson, Dave Ressler; Amy Covington, P.A.; Louis Carder, P.T.; Julie Puchkoff, M.S. in Exercise Physiology; Sandy Holmes; Kim Levin, M.D.; Katie Mitchell, CRNA; and Lisa Kantor, R.N.
