Letter: Appeasement didn’t work in 1938
Maybe President Obama will make a deal with ISIS next. Iran is the largest, the wealthiest and a very active sponsor of terrorism in the world and responsible for well over 1,000 deaths of U.S. service members! It also practices sharia law, as does ISIS.
Obama’s administration’s nuclear agreement is nothing more than a stimulus package for jihad, and about $150 billion more will flow into the world’s worst terror-exporting country, which is a sworn enemy of the United States! It will give Iran legal access to international conventional-arms markets to help it with its extremist Shiite Islamic ideologies. What is Obama going to do next? Maybe he’ll also make an appeasement piece of peace paper treaty with the Islamic State group and give it $150 billion for nothing in return. Iran is more dangerous than ISIS. Does anyone who is even a little informed in their right mind think the Iranian mullah government wont lie about the nuclear-bomb program, with inspectors not even being allowed access for 24 days upon request to inspect? If Miles Knudson lived in 1938, his letter to the editor (“Give Obama’s peace a chance,” Commentary, The Aspen Times, July 17) would have supported Neville Chamberlain’s infamous treaty with Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. This time there are nuclear weapons at stake! In Melanie Sturm’s article “Normalizing a mortal threat” (Commentary, The Aspen Times, July 15), she mentioned Iran’s genocidal ayatollahs, these mullahs have stated many times the intention of death to the great Satan (the U.S.) and death to the little Satan (Israel). Hitler also wrote and said everything he intended to do before the peace treaty was signed, and he was not taken seriously enough!
