An easy choice for a tough voting process

The midvalley isn’t Alabama in the ‘50s. But it’s almost as hard to vote. To cast your ballot in the upcoming Crown Mountain Recreation District election, you’ll have to go to the Recreation District’s office by the dog park at Crown Mountain Park on Tuesday, May 6, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Or, you can apply for an absentee ballot by calling 970-963-6030 — but be warned: Mine didn’t have a return address on it.

Because it feels like we are being disenfranchised (why no mail-in ballots?) you should make a huge effort to cast your vote. Bring your friends. And please vote for Katie Schwoerer, who will bring much-needed transparency and leadership to the board.
