Letter: An avoidable tragedy
An avoidable tragedy
Dear Editor:
Highway 82 between the El Jebel light and Catherine’s Store light is not a drag-race strip. Please, slow down; it saves gas and maybe you can watch for animals. So many are killed in that stretch and many are pets. A dog or cat can get out even when owned by good, responsible people.
A black dog was hit and killed Sunday afternoon and while the person who hit the dog didn’t stop, a couple of other cars did. The owner can be assured that as your dog died, your dog was cradled in the arms of a nice young man and stroked and told it was a good dog.
We are so sorry.
