Letter: An Aspen bus driver with a smile

Now that the dust has settled, or I should say the champagne powder after another wonderful holiday season, I would like to extend a hearty thank-you to the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority for what a great job all the drivers did in light of the weather conditions and the inevitable amount of folks who descend on our special burg.

One driver in particular stands out in my mind. Kendra, whom I know from the Galena Street Shuttle, was so delightful and warm-spirited throughout the Christmas crunch. Even on New Year’s Day, when in 30 years I’ve never seen so many people try to squeeze onto the bus, Kendra was there with a smile and an outstretched hand holding a bag of baby Snickers candy.

Kendra truly deserves to be applauded for keeping her composure when we locals all know how testy we can get at this time of year.

So thank you, Kendra, for always putting a smile on my face at the bus stop when I see you are driving!

And I thank everyone associated with RFTA. We as a community are blessed to have one of the greatest transit systems ever!
