Letter: A time to remember

We experience a lot of loss in our valley. When you lose someone you love, the pain is often so deep and dark that it’s hard to imagine ever emerging from it. As time goes on, the pain shifts, but the heart holds the missing and memories close — as it should. Our continued love and remembrance are some of the ways we honor the place the person held in our life.

On Saturday, Pathfinders is hosting the second Forever Love event at Paepcke Auditorium from 2 to 6 p.m. The afternoon is an opportunity to remember and honor and celebrate the lives of those loved and lost to death. If you have experienced a loss, please consider attending. This is a free event that allows each of us to take the time to feel, heal and take care of ourselves — no matter how recent or distant our loss is.

Some of the events include yoga, music therapy, coloring for hope, movement meditation, children’s programs and a ceremony with guest speakers Rabbi David Segal, the Rev. Nicholas Vesey, Sean Jeung and Mary Ryerson. Music will feature Cantor Rollin Simmons, Aspen Noise, Mack Bailey and Sarah Stephens.
