Letter: A step back in time

On May 30th, we left Aspen Elementary School and went back in time during our field trip at the Hotel Jerome. We learned the history of Aspen and the hotel. We were all dressed up in the fanciest clothes we could find for this special occasion. When we arrived we were greeted by Wendy, who made us feel right at home. We were joined in the lobby by Nina from the Historical Society, who was dressed in a beautiful outfit from the past. She made history come to life as she explained many of the events from the past. It was as though we could see the people from the 1800s walking through the hotel. We enjoyed a very delicious, sophisticated lunch thanks to May and Chefs Rob, Ed and Jessica. It was one of the best meals we have had in years! After being treated to the most mouth-watering cookies in the world, we discovered the fascinating place where all of the food magic happens. The complexity of the kitchen and the unique way the food is prepared was so interesting to see.

We appreciate this incredible journey made possible by Tony and all the hotel staff. This was the best field trip we had all year. This was a field trip to remember!
