A joyful occasion with Mary Hayes

I had the privilege of knowing Mary Hayes while I was owner of my bookstore in Redstone. I had a list of authors I wanted to have for book signings and Mary was on the top of that list.

She agreed to come Redstone, and on a beautiful, summer day in July, we sat outdoors in front of the shop. She was enchanted with the village of Redstone and all the summer tourists and conversations.

Debby Strom was the Redstone Inn manager then; Mary was happy to spend the night so I made that part of the offer for her to come up the Crystal Valley.

Mary was interesting and gracious, and we sold lots of her books. I will say it was definitely one of the highlights of being a bookstore owner. Such a wonderful memory for both of us.
