Letter: A joyful Fourth of July
To the good folks of Aspen,
Thank you for an incredible Fourth of July! It was probably the best I have ever seen! It was wonderful and heartwarming to see how involved the community was, with all ages participating: watching, enjoying and spraying each other with water, indiscriminately and without mercy. (I believe the Fire Department won, as always.) It was a joy to be able to spend the day with you all.
I would like to share some photos I took during the event. Use this link to view the album, http://www.flickr.com/photos/scodas/sets/72157645137658740/. If anyone wants one or more of these photos for personal use, drop me a note on Flickr and I will be happy to send via email, gratis, my gift back to the good people of Aspen.
If anyone is in any of these photos and does not wish to be, please let me know and that photo will be deleted from the set and from my files.
And to my new friend Alexis, it was a bit of a stretch when I told you that the candies being tossed into the crowd were sugar free. And they might have had just a bit of gluten in them, as well. Oh, and for certain they were definitely not free-range candies. Just the same, if it is okay with your mom and dad, go ahead and enjoy them anyway!
