Letter: A can’t-miss immigration forum
Dear Editor:
Immigration reform is a huge issue for the hospitality industry in general and right here in our own community of Aspen/Snowmass. It is important to businesses and individuals throughout our state and beyond. We all know that the “status quo” is not workable and that it is time for changes. Fortunately, immigration reform is finally on the front burner of national concerns.
To address the challenges and offer solutions, our community is sponsoring the Roaring Fork Valley Immigration Forum on Monday at the St. Regis Resort here in Aspen. The program will include guest speakers from the White House staff and from Sen. Michael Bennet’s office, and we will host other guests including two attorneys general. The forum will focus on solutions to our broken immigration system and legislation now before the U.S. Senate.
The forum is sponsored by the Aspen Chamber Resort Association and the Aspen Institute. This information-packed event will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon. It is free to the public, and all are invited to attend, but we do need attendees to reserve a seat by calling the Aspen Chamber office at 970-925-1940.
We are expecting a great turnout, and good ideas should be all around!
