Let’s keep the Aspen Board of Education intact
I want to reach out to the community to let you know how much I’ve appreciated serving with Margeaux Johansson, Susan Marolt, and Dwyane Romero on the Board of Education. I have found them to be insightful, collaborative and thoughtful, as we all work together to make the ASD better for our children with every meeting.
They all have children in the District and have a clear understanding and authentic desire to work with the teachers and administration to make every school day count. At our Board Retreat we partnered together as a team to develop our priorities for the upcoming year which include: continuing the great work we started last year in looking comprehensively at our math curriculum K-12 and now beginning to look at our English Language Arts programs, looking at ways to retain our wonderful teachers by increasing our local funding sources and providing more affordable housing, and continuing to broaden our Board outreach to our community. I would be honored to continue this work with them.
I also want to thank you if you took part in the District survey last spring. We received some great information from the community about how they feel about our schools and the education we’re providing. We heard that you believe that our High School supports students to reach their individual potential, and that we are preparing our students for success after graduation. That the community values the curricula which is provided in our three schools, and that the principals and administrators create an environment that promotes learning for our kids.
This is all great news and I attribute much of it to the hard work and thoughtful considerations of the current Board of Education. I’m asking that you help us continue working as a team and allow us to complete the great work which we’ve begun. Please vote for Margeaux Johansson, Susan Marolt and Dwayne Romero for Aspen Board of Education. Thank you.
