Let Lent and St. Patrick’s Day mix
This year the St. Patrick’s Day Dinner at St. Mary Church in Aspen will, unfortunately, be celebrated March 16. The 17th is on a Friday during Lent, and meat is not allowed.
Cardinal Timothy Dolan gave a dispensation for New Yorkers to be able to observe the holiday on the 17th. Aspen needs to follow suit so the 125-year tradition here can continue on the 17th.
I’ll be celebrating from 2 to 6 p.m. on the 17th with my friends in Wagner Park, where the World Cup festivities will be honoring the holiday.
See you there.
