Kudos and Kindness from Aspen Times readers (June 4, 2017)
Props to Skico
Our appreciation and thanks to Aspen Skiing Co. for a great weekend of skiing and hanging out on Aspen Mountain. The conditions were wonderful and the lifts and the Sundeck had their “A” teams on that made for a relaxing great time.

Memorial Day brings out Aspen’s best
A beautiful day, a beautiful ceremony, and a beautiful gathering of lovely people. I want to recognize and thank all those involved in this Memorial Day and in the ceremony.
To Louis Swiss for the gratis coffee and goodies, sweet.
To Brandon and David, thanks for the air time.
To the Streets Department, the colors flying on Main Street were lovely.
To Mark and the Pitkin County guys and the Elks, thanks for the set up.
To Troop No. 201, thanks for the laying of the memorial wreath. Well done!
To Mayor Skadron, thank you for the park and for your powerful words.
To VSO Janine Barth, welcome and thank you for your ongoing service.
To Jeannie Walla and Richard Sundeen, lovely and very moving, as always.
To Charlie Hopton, thanks for your efforts with and for the vets.
To Bob Cook, wonderful reading of “In Flanders Field.”
To Darryl Grob and Roll Call, they will never be forgotten.
A huge thank-you to the guests and veterans who came forward and shared their stories and experiences. These memories are the most important part of this ceremony and come from the heart. Pepper will always be in our thoughts.
Once again, Elks Lodge No. 224 worked their magic. Thank you all for the tasty barbecue.
As usual, the Colonel worked his magic. Semper Fi, sir.
Again, a heartfelt thank-you. All of you made this Memorial Day ceremony a powerful and touching memory. This was Aspen at its best!
