JCPenney closure is community’s loss
It was reported in Saturday’s Denver Post that J.C. Penney is closing its Glenwood Springs store in June. This letter is an open appeal to community members and leaders to contact J.C. Penney to ask that every effort be made to keep the store open.
Think about it. This store is the only one in the area that stocks a comprehensive collection of essential men, women and children’s clothing, quality shoes and sundries. It is the only store that sells winter coats as opposed to ski jackets. Whether I want leather gloves, dress shirts or ties, J.C. Penney is the only store that sells it. J.C. Penney’s departure would be a profound community loss. We must convince them to keep this vital community resource open.
