Thanks to Chase McWhorter, I have finally come to recognize I’ve been viewing complex geopolitical situations as checkers when Chase knows it is closer to 4-D chess (“Ignorance is bliss,” letters, March 9, The Aspen Times). Maybe if I buy three more chessboards I’ll be equally enlightened.
