Aspen Times columnist’s assertions unsupported

My letter is in response to the April 7 column by Glenn Beaton (“Barbarians are well past the gate,” commentary, The Aspen Times.

Unfortunately, Mr. Beaton chose to rant, rather than take the time and effort to write an informative column. Multiple assertions are made with no supporting facts or documentation.

Specifically, a reference is made to the Mueller report, which has not yet been released. Yet he draws a conclusion that the president committed no crimes, which apparently he derives from a report, which has not been made public and which he has never seen.

Also, Mr. Beaton can stop worrying. Rest assured that Aspen will not permit camping on the city sidewalks. This is a silly assertion from an even sillier column.
