A dismal performance

How much do you want to bet that Roger Marolt didn’t get a 100-day pin this year? Eight years running, and still nothing. It’s kinda sad considering that there were 151 days in the ski season this year.

If skiing were a required course in school, 100 days averages out to a “D.” Even the lenient Aspen State Teachers College would put him on probation for that poor showing.

It begs the question: Is Roger Marolt a skier who writes, or a writer who skis? If The Aspen Times awarded a 100-column pin each year, he’d get one!

It seems like he’s just not that into skiing.

New crop of Aspen residents don’t count

Kudos to Laurine Lasselle for her well-written, well-researched article interpreting the data from the 2020 census (“2020 census data highlights relationship among resort communities, downvalley locales,” Aspen Journalism).
