A bumpy ride in Basalt

The town of Basalt administration is determined to make people think they have no money so that their developer friends’ privatized condo solution proposal to put taxpayer-subsidized condos on the Roaring Fork Community Development Corp. River Park parcel looks like a reasonable solution. Shame, shame, shame! Eight months ago a pavement condition report was competed for the town. I am sure the intent for ordering the report was to find another reason to say Basalt was not maintaining its infrastructure. Disappointingly for the person who ordered the report, it concluded our roads were in excellent condition: 95.67 percent of the pavement was in good or satisfactory condition, 3.98 percent was in fair, and less than 0.27 percent in poor. With not a pothole to be found anywhere, Two River Road, River Side Drive and Swinging Bridge Drive all were repaved in the past few weeks. How does your butt feel, Basalt?
