Letter: Scott Writer will stand up to bad development
As a working resident of Aspen for over 50 years, I have seen the changes in town and in this valley. I and my local friends were appalled at how well-intentioned city and county officials were manipulated by developers and their lawyers to get around and push through what we considered bad development of our beautiful town.
We, as just the working folks, had little say in these decisions. We hoped our City Council and county commissioners would use good sense and make sure these buildings would fit in the town and valley. Now we see the results and none of us like what has been done.
I know Scott Writer is a dedicated bright man that cares deeply about all of us here in the county and our town. He has a firm hand and will make sure any new development and concepts are good for us all.
