Letter: A perfect celebration of life

On behalf of myself, my children and Ryan’s family, I would like to thank our community for the overwhelming love and support we have been shown in the past few months on all levels. My husband, Ryan Jennings, lost his life in an ice-climbing accident on Dec. 30 in Redstone. Our deep appreciation goes out to the friends and dedicated professionals who helped with Ryan’s rescue effort, including Mountain Rescue Aspen, the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office and the Carbondale Police and Fire departments.

We were told by many that the memorial in January was a perfect celebration of Ryan’s life. We would like to thank those who came and shared stories, tears and laughter. Additionally, we are so grateful for the incredible generosity of many individuals and businesses around the Roaring Fork Valley that made what would have been a lovely but modest event truly extraordinary.
