Leshem: Be a part of Best Buddies

We recently had the privilege of meeting participants in the Best Buddies program here in the Roaring Fork Valley. During a photo session, we captured special moments with buddy pairs and families whose lives have been deeply impacted by this incredible organization.
Our oldest daughter was part of Best Buddies in New York City about a decade ago, so we have known about the program’s mission. However, witnessing its impact firsthand in our valley has been nothing short of extraordinary. Best Buddies, which fosters friendships and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is one of the most meaningful initiatives Leshem Loft has had the honor to partner with.
We feel fortunate to be involved with Best Buddies Roaring Fork Valley and encourage folks to explore how they can join this movement of inclusion whether by becoming a buddy in the Adult Citizen program, supporting events, or simply spreading the word.
Together, we can continue to build a stronger, more inclusive community.

Nearly 500,000 pounds of concrete dropped by helicopter for new Snowmass lift
Helicopters shouldn’t fly. That would be the takeaway if one was faced with a multi-ton Black Hawk — known by its owners as “The Lorax” — hovering overhead with 4,000 pounds of concrete in its grasp, its blades kicking up 35-mile-per hour winds and turning an otherwise pleasant summer morning into a violent, stick-ensued dust bowl.
