Flanagan: River of grievances

Does Elizabeth Milias (The Red Ant) ever have anything positive to say? Her column, as far as I can tell, is an inexhaustible river of grievances.

We get it: She doesn’t like the City Council, she doesn’t like affordable housing and she imagines that rich people are being unfairly persecuted here in Aspen.

Message received. I can’t say that I’m surprised that a professional political operative would be peddling the same sort of outrage journalism that blankets our country, but I ask: Do we really need more of that here in our local papers?

Perhaps these column inches could be used for something inspiring, something solutions-oriented or something just plain entertaining. I know she fancies herself a “watchdog,” but it just reads like self-interested complaining to me.
