As soon as I fill out my mail-in ballot, the election is done for me; I cannot work up a gnat’s worth of enthusiasm, panic or fury over the news coverage and the bombardment of ads and will probably hang up on the pollsters, even the ones who will exclude me if I admit to being employed by the media ” those are my favorites.

So I’ll probably wait until Halloween to hand-deliver my mail-in ballot to the Pitkin County courthouse annex. If you’re trusting enough to mail your ballot, make sure you put 76 cents in postage on it (some say 59 cents, some say all will be delivered) and do it sooner than later. If you’re not on the mail-in list, you may vote early at the annex all this week and next week through Friday (Halloween). There is no early voting over the weekend or on Monday, Nov. 3, the day before THE election, and you’ll have to fight the crowds at the polls.

I’ve written three columns on the election (www.aspentimes.com, archive Su Lum), omitting Snowmass Village and Basalt about which I know next to nothing, and here’s a brief re-cap, page by long page.

High Points: Lift tix — A bargain

|

High Points: Now I don’t want to be an apologist for the Aspen Skiing Company, but to me $199 to ski the crown jewel of American skiing during the height of what is traditionally the busiest time of year is a total bargain.
