Aspen Times columnist Roger Marolt stirred up a hornet’s nest with his March 3 column, “Illegal people are created by God.”

Along with numerous letters to the editor, the column sparked plenty of response on the new Comments feature at, which lets readers respond ” anonymously, if they wish ” to articles, letters, columns, etc. that are published in our online edition.

While plenty of folks had something to say about Marolt’s views, few agreed with his call for a compassionate approach to the divisive immigration/illegal immigrants debate. Here’s a sampling:
