Aspen Indigenous Foundation: Local Native programs benefit from Aspen Thrift Shop

The Aspen Indigenous Foundation would like to express its deep gratitude to the Ladies of the Aspen Thrift Shop for the grant that was given in support of our Native programs.
This generous contribution ensures that we will be able to continue to bring to Aspen unique and authentic American Indian cultural programs such as the PowWow at the Aspen High School (May 24 and 25) and the Shining Mountains Film Festival at the Wheeler Opera House (Oct. 17 and 18).
The Aspen Indigenous Foundation is dedicated to promote awareness of indigenous people’s long presence in the Aspen area, and celebrates the remarkable history of those who lived in these mountains for thousands of years.
The original Indigenous People were respectful caretakers of the pristine environment we cherish, and the way they honor our Mother Earth as well as their ability to walk in harmony with all of creation serve as a model for all of us.
