William Joshua ‘Josh’ Leland

William Joshua “Josh”, age 70, passed away peacefully Friday, October 13, 2017 in Denver, Colorado. Josh was a Vietnam Veteran and following his military service, became a 40-year resident of Aspen, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents Virginia Braun Leland and Robert C. Leland as well as a niece Heather Ross Redford. Josh is survived by his son Michael Patrick Leland (Katrina) of Templeton California, with whom he was recently reunited. He is also survived by 2 teen age granddaughters, Trinity and Gabbriel Leland, a brother, Robert C. Leland, Jr. (Donna), two sisters, Genevieve Leland Guracar (Celik) and Elizabeth Leland Ross, 8 nieces and nephews, 16 grand nieces and nephews, and three dedicated Aspen friends, Ben Desugny, Mark Compisi and Guy Noble. Visitation at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 32515 Woodward Ave, Royal Oak, MI, Monday, October 23, 6-8 pm. Josh will be interred next to his father, Tuesday, October 24 at 11 am in the Leland Cemetery. Josh was a kind and gentle soul and only a few who knew him realized how greatly his life was affected by his service in the Vietnam War. All who knew and loved him pray he rests in Peace.
