Simon ‘Sy’ Peter Kelly

Simon Peter Kelly passed away surrounded by family on the morning of July 16, 2019. Hours before he mentioned his girl was waiting for him and he wasn’t scared. He was 89 years young and kept a room laughing through his last days. He was born and raised in Chicago where he met, pursued and married his wife of 53 years Nora Kelly. Very shortly after they loaded up their belongings and moved to Colorado where they would raise their three sons. In 1967 they moved their family to Aspen where Simon’s entrepreneur spirit blossomed through multiple business ventures which he would love to tell you about. He will be remembered for his wit, his love for a good meal and as a man who would go to the ends of the earth for his family. He is survived by his three sons Mike, Ted, and Dan. His brother Gene. His grandchildren Caitlyn, Cassidy, Luke, and Oliver. And many loved nieces and nephews. Please join us Friday August 16th at 2:00 PM at St Mary’s Church to celebrate Simon and Nora, followed by burial of both at Red Butte Cemetery and reception back at St Mary’s.
